Qualified proctors help departments provide certification opportunities for their members and neighboring agencies. This is also an opportunity to give back to the certification process that helped you earn your own qualifications.
Once certified as a proctor, participants must take part in at least one practical each year, either with their own department or another agency.
Please contact me with any questions about eligibility or the class and share this with any agencies who may have an interest.

The Colorado Fire Training Officers Association (CFTOA) General Membership Meeting brings together fire service training officers, instructors, agency representatives, and other members from across Colorado to discuss issues affecting fire service education, training, professional development, and certification throughout the state.
General Membership Meetings provide a forum for members to discuss current and proposed policies, procedures, standards, and requirements related to Colorado fire service certifications and training. Members have the opportunity to identify concerns, share experiences from their departments and regions, and provide input on issues that may affect firefighters, instructors, training officers, and fire service organizations statewide.
CFTOA also works through its committees and membership to evaluate proposed changes and develop recommendations regarding education, training programs, certification requirements, testing, instructor development, and professional qualification standards. Recommendations supported by the membership may be advanced to the appropriate state-level committees, boards, agencies, or partner organizations for further consideration.
These meetings are an important part of ensuring that Colorado's fire service has a voice in the development and continued improvement of the training and certification programs that affect departments and personnel throughout the state.
In addition to statewide training and certification matters, General Membership Meetings include Association business, officer and committee reports, upcoming training opportunities and events, committee activities, regional updates, and other matters brought before the membership.
CFTOA utilizes an Electronic Meeting System to assist with motions, seconds, and voting during General Membership Meetings. Members may access the system using a smartphone or laptop.
Voting eligibility is based on eligible Active Member organizations in accordance with the CFTOA Bylaws.
Members are encouraged to ensure that their CFTOA profile, organization information, and PIN are current prior to the meeting.
All CFTOA members are encouraged to attend, participate in discussions, serve on committees, and help provide a statewide voice for the continued advancement of fire service education, training, and certification in Colorado.
Colorado Fire Training Officers Association is a non-profit organization, providing education to stop firefighter injuries or death.
