About the Colorado Fire Training Officer's Association (CFTOA)

The Colorado Fire Training Officer's Association (CFTOA) is a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the professionalism, effectiveness, and safety of fire service personnel through high-quality training, education, and collaboration.

Founded by and for fire service instructors, training officers, and leaders from across Colorado, CFTOA serves as a central hun for sharing best practices, resources, and support in fire service education. Our members represent municipal fire departments, rural and combination agencies, volunteer departments, and fire academies statewide, united by a shared commitment to excellence in training.

Our Mission

To promote and support standardized, progressive, and practical training for all Colorado fire service professionals, ensuring readiness, safety, and leadership in every department and community we serve.

What We Do

  • Regular Meeting We meet with all members on a regular basis to discuss important training topics, upcoming trainings, and certification information.
  • Resource Sharing. Provide access to training materials, curriculum templates, and instructional tools to help departments maintain high standards.
  • Professional Development. Support career growth through workshops, certification guidance, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Statewide Collaboration. Foster a strong network of instructors and training professionals to share ideas, solve challenges, and unify training efforts across regions.
